Very cool! I was thinking that he was sampling a lot of Liszt until 3:30 when he started playing a lot of Liszt!

one time at band camp (yes I play the flute), our piano/keyboardist did a straight hour long improvised set while we were all just hanging around one night. I pretty much knew right then, that I could play my instrument well, really well, but HE was a musician.

Nah, you’re both musicians. But just like there are guys who can drive fast on their local dirt track and then there are guys like Lewis Hamilton, there are certain players who are just orders of magnitude better at it than we are. I’ve been to performances by world class players and my colleagues say, “Well, I guess I’ll just sell my horn.” I prefer to be inspired by those moments.
